He graduated from Samsun Anatolian High School and Boğaziçi University, Department of Business Administration.Mr. Şener began his career in capital markets in 1996 at Evgin Securities. From 1998 to 2008, he held managerial positions in Research and Discreationary Asset Management at Yatırım Finansman Securities. From 2008 until 2023, during the first half of his career at Ak Asset Management A.Ş., he managed domestic equity pension and mutual funds. After 2015, he took the lead in managing pension and mutual funds consisting of regional and thematic international equities, commodities (gold, oil, silver), and both international and domestic fixed-income instruments. He played a pioneering role in establishing and managing foreign technology investment and pension funds, thematic international equity funds, and mixed thematic funds with both local and foreign assets. He initiated the first studies on sustainability in the sector. In October 2024, he joined Emaa Blue Asset Management Inc. as Director of Portfolio Management and Research.
