He completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Public Finance at Karadeniz Technical University, and his master’s and PhD degrees in the Department of Banking at the Institute of Banking and Insurance, Marmara University. He began his academic career in 2001 as a Research Assistant in the Department of Banking at the same institute, and since 2018, he has continued to work at the same university as an Associate Professor.

His academic work focuses on central banking, financial markets, investment institutions, structural analysis of the banking sector, cryptocurrencies, and blockchains. He has published articles and book chapters in international journals; he also continues to serve on editorial and advisory boards and as a referee for various academic journals.
